For years, my husband has recited the same prayer at night; "God, thank you for everything you've given me, everything you've taken from me and everything you've left me with." At first I thought this prayer somewhat odd and I questioned why anyone would express gratitude during periods of personal loss, suffering or grief. It’s easy to let ourselves feel bad or lacking when going through a tough time in life. But saying THANK YOU serves to remind us no matter how bad a situation may seem, there are still many, many things to be grateful for. As we enter the month which celebrates the season of Abundance, my prayer for you is that you have plenty to be grateful for, too. May the sun bring you new energy by day. May the moon softly restore you by night. May the rain wash away your worries. May the breeze blow new strength into your being. May you walk gently through the world and know it's abundance all the days of your life.
P.S. - UPDATE ON ME:
Thanks to my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Mita Patel, my lumpectomy was a success and I'm healing nicely. My pathology report confirmed my skin margins are clear, the 3 biopsied lymph nodes are negative and my tumor remains stage 1a. All good! Now, all we are waiting on is one more test back to determine my course of treatment - radiation and chemo or just radiation (hopefully). I will know for sure when I meet with the chemo oncologist on 11/17. THANK YOU EVERYONE for all of your prayers, good vibes, well wishes, cards, gifts and time spent making me forget about cancer for a while! I am so GRATEFUL for your love and kindness!
